Afterall Our Love Story
I wrote "Afterall Our Love Story" as a way to remember my love for my husband Brian. I have received so many emails and hugs from people who have read our story and were moved by it. I want to thank everyone who took the time to read our story. Your kind words mean so much to me.

The Brian Bayman Memorial Scholarship
Hello Everyone,
I'm happy to tell you UNC is developing a memorial scholarship in Brian's name. Right now it is in the building stage, so if you do a search for it at UNC it will not appear. Our goal is to reach $10,000 within 3 years so that scholarship will last as long as UNC is in existence. Once we reach the goal the scholarship will be on the UNC website.
The Bio below is what UNC will post once we meet the financial goal. The future recipients of this scholarship will also receive Brian's bio.
Thank you for all your love and support,
Patty
Dear Friends and Family of Brian and Patty Bayman
Since the printing of her book we are pleased to announce the launch of a new scholarship in Brian’s name – The Brian Bayman Graduate Saxophone Memorial Scholarship! This scholarship will continue Brian’s legacy of music and education for years and years to come through yearly scholarship dollars for saxophone students. This is truly a dream come true!
This scholarship is brand new and before it becomes eligible to give to students, we must reach a goal of $10,000. We have already received generous pledges to help get us to our goal and hope that you will join us in making this dream, for both Brian and Patty, a reality.
To contribute to the Brian Bayman Scholarship, you may contact me directly or use the online link below. In order to keep up with our progress, please call or email me. I would be happy to let you know the progress of this scholarship!

The Brian Bayman Graduate Saxophone Memorial Scholarship
for Graduate Students in the School of Music College of Performing & Visual Arts
University of Northern Colorado
Brian Bayman was a versatile and gifted saxophonist and instructor. His diverse interest ranged from jazz and classical to Dixieland and pop. He earned his Bachelor of Music degree from Valley City State University in North Dakota, and his talent and dedication to his craft brought him to the University of Northern Colorado to study under the direction of Gene Aitken and Roger Greenberg. He earned his Master of Music degree in 1988. While teaching at Chadron State College in Chadron, Nebraska, Brian met the love his life, Patty. Soon after, they married.
Brian’s education prepared him to perform and teach at the university level, and while teaching at Chadron State College he auditioned to study with renowned classical saxophonist, Jean-Marie Londeix. Brian was one of twelve students world-wide to be selected to study with Londeix at the prestigious Conservatory of Music in Bordeaux, France. Patty and Brian were married before moving to France.
The year abroad exposed Brian to a cultural and musical diversity and the beginning of what promised to be a very bright and exciting future. Unfortunately, at the end of the school year, Brian contracted a deadly form of viral encephalitis, and the illness left him unable to talk, walk or care for himself. Following several months of hospitalization, Patty took him home and selflessly cared for him for sixteen years until his death in 2006. During those 16 years, music continued to give Brian unspeakable joy through smiles and laughter and is the inspiration for this scholarship.
The Brian Bayman Graduate Saxophone Memorial Scholarship was established by Patty Bayman to honor her husband’s love of music and to inspire future musicians.
The Brian Bayman Graduate Saxophone Memorial Scholarship is awarded to graduate students who are studying saxophone in the School of Music.
The University of Northern Colorado Foundation is pleased to recognize the generosity of Patty Bayman and Brian’s friends and family, who provided the gifts to create this permanent fund to perpetuate excellence in the College of Performing and Visual Arts.
